Acid Ink Blue G is a water-soluble acidic dye, belonging to the triphenylmethane series. It is obtained by sulfonation and neutralization of alcohol soluble blue, and is in the form of a reddish brown powder. It is easily soluble in water but insoluble in anhydrous ethanol and aniline.
It is mainly used for manufacturing pure blue and blue black inks, and can also be used to prepare color lakes for blue printing ink. It can also be used for dyeing and biological coloring of silk, cotton, and leather, and as an indicator.
